Roy Stall is ex RAN and a former tour guide on the Oberon class submarine on display at the WA Maritime Museum, and he came along to our most recent meeting to tell us all about Australia’s submarines – past, present and future. Roy provided a comprehensive visual run down on the Oberon submarine. They were very capable subs and have been replaced by the equally competent Collins Class subs, which are currently in use for Australia's defence. Under AUKUS the Collins subs are to be replaced by nuclear powered submarines in the 2040s. Roy left us with the quote "nobody likes a warrior until the enemy is at the door".
