Santa arrived to give the Junior Cricketers at the Wembley Districts Junior Cricket Club treats at the end of their final practice session for 2018
There were shrieks of joy and high fives from boys and girls alike for Christmas when he dropped in at the final cricket session of the year (2018) at the Wembley Districts Junior Cricket Club.
Father Christmas distributed Icy Poles to all the excited children.
For the previous seven weeks as part of the club's Community Programme, the Rotary Club of Cambridge had overseen the sausage sizzles for over 200 junior cricketers. This is an ongoing programme that involves Rotarians on a Friday evening throughout the summer.
Rotary Cambridge would like to thank the OzHarvest personnel who daily go out of their way to ensure that restaurants' and commercial food suppliers' excess stock and leftovers are donated to needy causes. Any junior cricket leftovers are taken to St Bartholomew's House, a facility for homeless people in Perth. Rotary Cambridge is pleased to be working with both the Wembley Districts Junior Cricket Club and OzHarvest for the benefit of the local and greater community.
