This week’s meeting was largely one of ‘housekeeping’, but we did have a visit by Matt and Mikayla from Floreat Primary School for the purpose of finding out what we know about technology in schools ahead of a workshop by them in a few weeks’ time.

President Frank led the ‘housekeeping’ discussion which included a range of topics. Jeremy Wood told us all about the School Leadership programme that he conducts at various primary schools, and this focuses on how to run a successful meeting. It’s remarkable what an impact this has on the pupils and it generates much gratitude from Principals and Parents.

Two teachers from Perth are visiting the Karya Mulia Deaf School in Surabaya in May, and there is an opportunity for us to visit that site in August if there is support for such a trip.

Other topics covered were: a possible association with the City Beach Surf Life Saving Club; Betty is now being hosted by Geoff Ivanac and Natasha; the use of a microphone for Guest Speakers; there will be no fete this year; and the possible sale of alarms for women as a community service fundraiser.
