It was good to get back into the swing of ‘normal’ meetings again, and we had a good turnout this week.
The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a number of programs to encourage young people in their passion for science. Rotary is the Founding Partner of NYSF, and it is estimated that Rotarians contribute around 20,000 volunteer hours to NYSF each year. Jacob Lourens is a student at Churchlands Senior High School, and he is one of the 200+ young people who were selected by Rotary Clubs around the country to attend the Forum in Canberra during January 2024. This year is the 40th anniversary of the 10 day long Forum, and Jacob told us all about his experience, including his resuscitation of a fellow student who had a seizure.
World Rotary Day is being celebrated in our District on Friday 23rd February from 6.00 pm on the South Perth foreshore, and this time it will bring to mind the 119 years of Rotary service to the community. We will circulate an email containing all the details, and please note that you should RSVP to the following address if you would like to attend: jill@quairadingearthmoving.com.au
